Botanical medicine refers to plant-based treatments that are used in the form of tinctures, herbal teas, capsules and remedies used topically.  This use of plants to promote healing dates back to the beginnings of civilization and is the foundation of modern pharmacology. Chinese Medicine

Acupuncture, chinese herbal medicine and nutrition. The fundamentals of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine are derived from a 5000 year-old practice of balancing the flow of Qi -chi- (energy) in pathways of the body called meridians. Tongue and pulse diagnosis guide the physician towards the direction of treatment, of which each is designed to create balance and harmony in the mind and body. Treatments may include a combination of the use of ancient Chinese herbal formulas, traditional Chinese dietary suggestions, cupping and acupuncture. Acupuncture is the insertion of sterile needles at specific points on the body. It is highly effective and has been clinically tested in the treatment ofacute and chronic pain as well as other conditions.

Clinical Nutrition

Nutritional supplements and positive dietary choices. Let food be your medicine! Balanced nutrition is an essential platform for healthy living. A health-promoting diet can significantly enhance your overall well-being and can help prevent future disease.  Individualized diets, cleansing and dietary adjustments can be extremely effective in alleviating the symptoms of specific medical conditions. Nutritional supplements such as vitamins, minerals and enzymatic therapy are other powerful tools used for optimizing health, when needed.

Homeopathic Medicine

Energetic medicine to stimulate self-healing abilities.  Homeopathic medicine has been safely and effectively practiced since it’s conception by Samuel Hahnemann in the 1700s.  Based on the principle of “like cures like,” homeopathy uses minute amounts of natural substances which have been potentized and diluted to obtain their effects. A homeopathic remedy is prescribed based on the unique characteristics of the patient and works by gently shifting the body towards a state of healing.

Hydrotherapy

The therapeutic use of water. Hydrotherapy is the use of hot and cold water to stimulate healthy circulation in the lymphatic and vascular systems of the body. Hydrotherapy techniques restore energy levels and invigorate the body,  promote immunity and activate detoxification.

IV Nutritional Therapy

High dose nutrients administered intravenously for maximum absorption. Dr. John Myers, MD, a Baltimore physician, formulated Myers’ Cocktail, an intravenous vitamin-nutrient medication more than 30 years ago. This potent solution contains a specially balanced combination of vitamins and minerals and is used in the treatment of a wide range of ailments. Intravenous administration ensures maximum absorption since it is put straight into your bloodstream, by-passing the gastrointestinal system.

By consuming a health-promoting diet, we can ususally obtain adequate vitamins and minerals which provide the raw materials necessary for our cells to function properly. However, sometimes even a great diet may not translate to proper nutrition at the cellular level. Poor digestion, food allergies/ssensitivities, chronic inflammation and poor immune function are some common ailments preventing adequate absorption of nutrients.

In IV therapy, the dose is such that the vitamins can enter the cells without using cellular energy. Beacuse of intravenous delivery, the nutrients bypass the stomach and liver for metabolism and go directly to the bloodstream where they are needed. This allows the cells to rapidly repair and regain strength. Normal cellular functioning then ensues and the body begins to heal.

IV Nutritional Therapy is beneficial for a host of conditions both acute and chronic: for nourishing the adrenal glands, building the immune system, increasing circulation and aiding in detoxification to name a few.
